- Dordje Drollo Teachings and Empowerment

His Eminence
the Terton Namkha Trimed Rinpoche, together with his son Gyetrul Jigme
Rimpoche, will give teachings on Dorge Drollo (the wrathful manifestation
of Guru Rimpoche) and also confer the Dordje Drollo empowerment.

Guru Rimpoche
(Padmasambhava) appeared in different moments of his life under different
forms that are known as “The Eight Manifestations” or, more precisely, “The
Eight Names”, which symbolize different aspects of Awakening. Dordje Drollo
is the eighth name, the most absolute aspect of Crazy Wisdom, its wrathful
expression.
Padmasambhava manifested himself for the first time as Dordje Drollo in
Bhutan in order to subjugate the local deities and demons, which were hostile
to Dharma, and also later in Tibet and Nepal. It was also under the form
of Dordje Drollo that Padmasambhava hid a number of spiritual treasures (termas).
In the iconography, Dordje Drollo is red colour, very wrathful, with three
bloodshot eyes, red-haired, surrounded by fire. He waves a vadshra with his
right hand and holds a phurba on his left hand, with which he throws a scorpion.
He rides a hungry tigress that devours a monk's heart. The scorpion symbolizes
the “negative actions” to eliminate; the tigress symbolizes Dorge Drollo’s
spiritual consort and skilful means; the monk embodies an evil spirit that
sows confusion, discord and craziness among the community of practitioners.
Dordje Drollo is the powerful energy that destroys big obstacles, all
corruptions, spiritual negativities and sicknesses, transforming Maras into
protectors of Dharma.
H.E. the Terton Namkhar Trimed Rabjam Rimpoche revealed the Great Treasure
of Dordje Drollo through a direct vision in Tak-Tsang (Tiger’s Cave), in
Bhutan. Due to its freshness and direct connection to the source, this transmission
contains an enormous blessing and awakening power.
