THE EUROPEAN CENTRE PROJECT AROUND THE PYRENEES
His E. Gyetrul Jigme Rimpotche is promoting within his
teaching activities, the creation of a European Retreat Centre in Spain :
a Centre to study and practice the Dharma ( teachings, courses
and individual and group retreats ) for students from all over the world
; a lay community to live according to the Buddha´s teachings , in
a tolerant and peaceful atmosphere, in harmony with the environment; a Monastery
that can house its monks and nuns.
The European Centre will be an open space for everyone who regardless of their religious beliefs, want to benefit from a beautiful natural environment, and an atmosphere of serenity to deepen their spirituality and personal development.
Besides, it will undertake social, cultural and economical activities in accordance with the Dharma in the area where it is based. It is expected to create an agricultural exploitation with ecological criteria to guarantee profits from crops and stockbreeding.

You could also help us in the search of the land to build the Centre, mainly around the Pyrenees. The requirements are: a minimum of 50 hectares (200 hectares would be ideal) of isolated land either half way up or high mountain, with a clear view, irrigated by a river, lake or torrent. If there is already some construction on the site, it is essential that we are allowed to build on most parts of the property (Temple, Stupa, Accommodation…)
